Profiling. What’s your take?
“Now we know the truth: The 9/11 terrorists could have been stopped if … the law enforcement agencies had not been so inept, obstructionist, arrogant, antiquated, bloated and turf-conscious – and timid about racial profiling.”
Really? Are you a terror threat because you look a certain way? When you read this, you think theivery. Theivery of personal freedoms. This soapbox stance was taken by left wing New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd when she learned that the FBI admitted that it had resisted profiling Middle Easterners before the 9/11 attacks. At ALO magazine, we believe that “Humanity has no Nationality.” A mantra that extends to civil liberties and the knowledge that more than one race or cultural demographic hijack planes.

If you think profiling the States is bad, you should see it at Heathrow. And if you think you are traveling easy with a passport from Ireland, you are sadly mistaken.

My question for Maureen Dowd would be, why stop racial profiling only the Middle Easterners? How about the following:
How about Jewish? The Zionist groups like Hagana Bet/Irgun and Lehi/Stern Gang who hounded the British rulers and Arab civilians through violent means?
How about Ariel Sharon? The UN commander Major-General Vagn Bennike reported, “bombs were thrown” by Sharon’s men “through the windows of huts in which the refugees were sleeping and, as they fled, they were attacked by small arms and automatic weapons.” Fifty Arab refugees were killed. Sharon led an attack on a Jordanian village of Qibya massacring 69 civilians. Sharon also allowed the Sabra and Shatila massacre, where 800 Palestinians were slaughtered.
How about Hindus who embarked on anti-Sikh riots in which more than 3,000 Sikhs were massacred in New Delhi. Another 8,000 Sikhs were slaughtered in rest of India?
How about Indian government who has gunned down over 100,000 Kashmiris since 1980s?
How about Hindus/BJP who systematically butchered over 2,000 unarmed Muslims in Gujarat?
How about Russians who have massacred hundreds of thousands Chechens?
How about British who in violation of UN Security Council’s Resolution 1189 (section 5)granted citizenship to Altaf Hussain, knowing very well that he is responsible for the massacre of thousands of Pakistani citizens.
And the list goes on.
