Welcome to My Life
A typical day.
Wake up early to be next to my seven-year-old son and prepare him for
school. Do interviews with radio, television,
magazines and newspapers. If I
spent a late night in the studio, I’ll sleep
a bit before working out. Then my
beloved coffee with business associates.
I never miss my three o'clock
appointment to meet my son as he arrives
home from school. I take my lunch
with him and help him with his homework.
I work with him, and then it’s off
to events or dinner and then back in
the studio.
Protection from aggressive fans.
I had a fan who wanted to meet me so
badly. He followed me from one event
to another. Then one day, he followed
me to my dressing room after a Dubai
performance. My bodyguards stepped
in and knocked him out cold. Even then
I was concerned for his health. I ran toward
him like a crazy woman to see
what happened. The doctors were
called, and, thank God, he woke up
and only wanted to talk with me. I never
want to happen to me what happened
to my beloved Suzanne Tamim (who
was recently murdered in her Dubai
home). I am thankful I don’t have lunatics
next to me, plus I have my friends
and family protecting me at all times.
Near and dear causes.
Fighting against discrimination concerning
AIDS and HIV is very important
to me. Making others aware that precaution
is the best way to save your life
along with helping those in our community
with tolerance toward those
with HIV is crucial. A lot of people look
at people suffering from HIV and AIDS
as criminals still. No they are not. They
are creatures of God, and we should
love them, not as an act of pity, but as
humans, as friends. I’m against discrimination
and humiliation, I hope one day
I can achieve this dream and fight with
them, and that one day we can discover
the cure for this sickness.
Empowering women.
The only answer is education and ambition.
A woman should be educated
and should have a good ability to read.
She should be open to other cultures
to increase her knowledge and to teach
her children the proper way to live. She
will love herself more, which leads to
loving others completely. When you accept
who you are, you have the ability
to pay love forward.
The beauty of a woman always begins from the inside and is rooted in patience and balance.
Divorce is behind you.
Now what? Love always has the last
word. Sometimes we don’t get lucky in
a relationship, but that does not mean
it’s a license to stop loving and falling in
love. It’s the only way to happiness. A
human without love is a cold mountain.
Love exists in my life. I have my son, my parents and a secret angel. I’m happy
now.
Best quickie style on a budget?
Hip jeans and a nice top.
What’s in your bag?
Chocolate. I just adore chocolate!
That’s why sports are so important to
work it off. Perfume too. Bvlgari and the
new Lolita Lempicka. They are unique
and go on my skin very well.
Your favorite actresses.
Legendary Egyptian actress Faten
Hamama and Shadia along with Nicole
Kidman, Judi Dench, Michelle Pfeiffer,
Julia Roberts, Angelina Jolie and Cate
Blanchett. Their performances are so
real. They know how to make the viewers
believe. I hope to have the opportunity
to work with one of them.
On beauty.
The beauty of a woman always begins
from the inside and is rooted in patience
and balance. Always believe in
yourself and your dreams. You’ll enrich
and strengthen your life in all situations.
Your beauty secrets?
Drinking water. Lots of it. Water is essential
to a good life. Taking care of my
skin with the best beauty products.
Vichy, La Prairie and Lancome. They
should be in everyone’s bathroom.
What about the rumors of plastic
surgery.
I always admitted that I did plastic surgery,
but it was in the past. Now I believe
that with healthy living, working
out and using the best beauty products,
you can stay in fantastic shape .
Are you sure men and women cannot
be friends?
Impossible. I don’t believe in friendship
between a man and a woman, but I believe
in commitment and being in love
with a man. A woman can never stay
alone. We were created to share a life
together. It’s this core that drives us into
relationships. Affection always finds a
way to rule the day.
